The question

Can adaptation be as satisfying as direct control?

Many competitive games test execution speed after the match begins. Reservefire removes direct combat controls and asks the player to pay attention instead: read movement, precision, and cover use, then decide what the reserve bot should become.

The interesting moment is not simply watching two bots fight. It is noticing something useful, changing the plan because of it, and deciding whether the advantage is worth a dangerous recall and swap.

Prepare two bots

Choose each bot’s mind, weapon, and optional hardware without spending the whole match budget.

Read the arena

Autonomous movement, sensor contact, missed shots, and changing cover reveal what each build is trying to do.

Risk the reserve

Refit the reserve, then recall the active bot through an exposed extraction sequence before the new plan can enter.

What is being tested

A focused first playable.

  • Do players change a build or swap timing because of something they observed?
  • Are the bot behaviors and destructible terrain readable without explanation?
  • Does extracting a bot create tension without making a swap feel arbitrary?

Reservefire is a public playtest. Sharing anonymous match evidence is optional and starts off for every match. Multiplayer, accounts, progression, and monetization remain outside this experiment until the core loop proves that it deserves to grow.
